about ACD

A colour deep creates opportunities among queer, trans south asians to connect with each other and share stories/experiences through:

  • this website (blog posts, event listings, resources)
  • social media (facebook page, twitter and a private facebook group)
  • events (hangouts and hosted events)

However you (dis)connect with queer, trans south asian communities, this space is yours to share your experiences and connect with others.

ACD is facilitated by a collective residing in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), traditional territory of the Mississaugas of New Credit First Nation, the Huron-Wendat First Nation and the Haudenosaunee Confederacy.

the ACD collective

We are a collective of four queer south asians, most of whom are youth and some of whom are also trans-identified. At different times, each of us has felt isolated or not known where to go and have used online spaces to connect, learn more about ourselves and the world around us - often, in these online spaces, we struggled to find voices that represented our experiences. Coming together to make this online space a reality holds different meaning for each of us but we all share the common vision of creating an online space that reflects the multiplicities and richness of our communities.

We continue to work as a collective to find more accessible ways to bring others into the conversation and make sure that our decisions reflect our communities. We encourage you to provide us feedback or suggestions on how we could better do this - email us at acolourdeep@gmail.com or Facebook message us!
